In the case of painful ingrown toenails or repeatedly in growing toenails, nail surgery under local anaesthesia is strongly recommended. Our clinic is fully equipped so that the surgery is carried out safely and effectively.

  • Biomechanical assessment & gait analysis.
From Bunions to Heel spurs, Sprained ankles to Shin splints, Arthritic knees and Lower back pain to Knee pain.......& the list goes on. These problems have a biomechanical cause that almost always is connected with the feet.
If they do not function or move properly, then they lead to other problems such as bunions, heel spurs, sprained ankles, knee pain, metatarsalgia, neuroma, etc.
A biomechanical assessment involves assessing & measuring different motions of the foot, ankle, leg, knee, hip & lower back to determine whether it functions & moves correctly.
Gait analysis involves assessing these movements while walking. This often involves walking/running on a treadmill & videoing the mechanics. This can be used to predict the likelihood of developing problems and are also used once you have a problem to identify the cause & help plan an effective treatment plan.
Podiatrists specialise in the care of the foot & ankle. Whether it be a minor or major problem, see a Podiatrist in regard to any foot or ankle problem.
In the case of a biomechanical assessment you will need to bring your trainers/specific sports shoes and a pair of shorts. Biomechanics is
probably one of the most important services that Podiatrist's provide.
